Welcome Message – TGEO President

Dear colleagues and guests:

On behalf of Taiwan Group on Earth Observations (TGEO), it’s my honor to welcome you to the tenth International Conference on Earth Observations and Social Impacts, ICEO&SI 2020. The conference this year is jointly hosted by National Central University (NCU) and TGEO. I would like to express my wholehearted appreciation to NCU for preparing the amazing program, venue, and festive activities.

TGEO was founded in 2010 and all the members helped to initiate ICEO&SI since then. Due to the constant collaborations of all our senior and young members, co-organizers and all our friends all over the world, ICEO&SI has become an annual forum for the people who concern the sustainability of the earth to exchange and share knowledge and experiences; essentially to seek the answers to address the threats the human beings are facing nowadays; and to provide the suggestions to the policymakers for further actions. Ten years have passed, our focused areas remain the same, which include Natural Disasters, Health, Energy, Climate Change, Ecosystems, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Water Resources, Meteorology, and related industries. Our accumulated works from ICEO&SIs have been published in special issues in the journals, such as Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Research, Advances in Meteorology, Terrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Journal of Marine Science and Technology, … etc. I attribute all the prosperous achievements to every participant in these ten years.

Last but not least, our host city Taoyuan, known for cultural diversity with abundant natural resources, will give you a further reason to join ICEO&SI 2020. We look forward to welcoming you for the tenth anniversary of ICEO&SI. Every effort of the Local Organizing Committee will ensure you pleasant and fruitful memories in ICEO&SI 2020.
